Work at Heights training sounds self explanatory: it’s essential training for anyone who spends some or all of their time working at heights. However, perhaps not as obviously, it’s also important training for any workers who are at risk of falling. If you’re working on solid ground but could fall into a trench or ditch, this training is for you.
Why complete Work at Heights training?
Construction sites are full of various hazards, but one of the most dangerous hazards for workers isn’t anything to do with large machinery. In the UK, falls from height is the most common kind of fatal accident at work. Work at Heights training will give you confidence to navigate a role that requires you to work from height, or to support colleagues who work at height.
During this training course you’ll look at:
- Work at Height Regulations 2005
- Assessing risk of working at height
- Controlling the risk of working at height
- Minimising the risk of working at height.
Who is Work at Heights training for?
Working at height training will be valuable for any worker who spends time working on ladders, scaffolding, platforms, or stages. The training will also be useful for anyone who works at ground level but close to trenches that they could fall into. Crucially, the training will benefit anyone who works on a construction site generally as the more knowledge you have of the hazards surrounding you and your colleagues, the safer your environment. You don’t have to be the one doing the work at height to benefit from this training.
If you’re new to construction, working at height training is an excellent way to understand more about the hazards of a construction site. If you’re a seasoned construction worker, you might want to take this training to refresh your memory and get ready for a new project.
The course can be completed online during your own time. With flexibility to do this training in your own home and when it suits you, you can increase your knowledge without needing to book time off work or find your way to a training centre. You can choose to complete working at height training when you feel it will be most beneficial for you, whether that’s when you’re in between jobs, looking for a new role, or alongside your current job.
