Description:
MECHANICAL LABOUR SUPPLY:
We were once again requested by a client to recruit skilled mechanical trades for a major industrial project at a new energy facility. This follow-up request came after successfully completing a similar assignment for a different division within the company. Our objective was to source qualified Pipefitters with experience in installing 10″ carbon and stainless steel pipework, as well as working on large-bore pipework (110DN–300DN). All candidates needed to be comfortable reading technical drawings, installing pipework, and managing smaller-bore pipework (up to 50DN), including threaded installations. They also needed to assist with basic site coordination, particularly in routing smaller-bore pipework on-site (e.g., drains to floor gullies and ACO drains). Additionally, the project required expertise in flanged and bolted connections, along with a selection of Coded TIG Welders certified to ASME 9 6G and 1G standards. The welders needed specific qualifications for working on both carbon and stainless steel pipework, with varying pipe thicknesses.
The Pipefitters were required to be proficient in installing prefabricated pipework and brackets within the new energy plant. They also needed IPAF certification for working at heights and experience with installing screwed iron pipework and managing heavy pipe spools.
Recognizing the importance of matching the right workers to the project’s specific technical requirements, we focused on reaching out to the most experienced professionals in our database. After a thorough vetting process, we carefully selected the candidates who met the high standards for the site. This also included recruiting general laborers to assist with site clearance and preparation.
In the end, we successfully placed 4–6 Pipefitters and 2 Coded TIG Welders, all of whom were accepted and offered positions with our client. They have integrated seamlessly into the team and are on track to complete the project, having been on-site for the past 10 weeks.
